Shop Notes From Marc Travis - October 10-07

http://www.cumberlandcycles.com/index.html

Hello all.  Hope this finds everyone well.  Want to first say thanks to everyone that attended the Crew social last Saturday evening at the Pub.  Attendance was great and I believe all enjoyed.

As some know, I spent a couple of days in Vegas attending the cycling industry trade show, Interbike.  The best description would definitely be a whirlwind of a couple of days but saying that, a good wind for all.  I definitely returned excited about what I saw and some of the new product we’ll be bringing in over the next few months.

After a very successful meeting with  Paul Swift and his Bike Fit crew, the shop will soon be offering some additional custom fitting opportunities for those interested.  I believe they have a great view and proven system to better fit the individual to their bike.  We have already started carrying their pedal wedges and will soon have all the equipment to begin taking after hours appointments for those interested. www.bikefit.com

Also, as some already know, Cumberland Cycles is now a full dealer for Look pedal systems.  Look has redesigned the industries most imitated, most highly ridden road pedal to introduce the Look Keo pedals.  Now covering the road cyclists pedaling needs from entry level Keo Easy at ~$70 clear through to the Keo Carbon/Ti HM at over $400.  Definitely a proven system that I am excited to offer. www.look-keo.com

Another bike industry announcement, as part of Fuji’s continuing growth throughout the cycling market, they are now the proud owners of Kestrel bikes.  Although I have been a Kestrel dealer for some years, I will admit this excited me as the access to the product line has just improved for my customers and my dealings with Fuji have been so strong over the past for the past few years I look forward to just increasing our work relations.

A couple of other new product lines we have added:

Serfaswww.serfas.com – including a great line-up of gloves, grips, brake pads, lights, bike cases and the real bonus, SADDLES  with a 90 day comfort guarantee, everything from entry level comfort saddles to Ti race saddles!!!!!!!!!

Eastonwww.eastonbike.com – need we say more, just check it all out

Girowww.giro.com – probably considered the industry leader in bicycle helmets

Blackburnwww.blackburndesign.com – got to ride these trainers at the show and I’m pumped.  Their trainers are ordered and expected to arrive first of the week.  How ‘bout a quality fluid trainer for under $250. Their top-end Ultra, a fluid with a centrifugal clutch retails for ~$300.  Exceptional product at exceptional prices…..what a deal!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of trainers, summer is basically over so we are gearing up for the winter months!  I am in the process of stocking the shop with a good selection of fall/winter apparel so let me know ifthere is anything in particular you might need.  We’ll be stocking tights, long sleeve jerseys, shoe booties, head and face covers, gloves and so on.  As mentioned the new line-up of trainers will range from $129 to ~$300, in stock, and of course, others available.

Reminders, Tifosi Optics and Hammer Nutrition has proven to be a good addition to the shop so I continue to keep those items well stocked.

Again, hope everyone is well and please, roll on in and say hello.  And, of course, if anyone needs anything or has any questions please, let me know.  I’ll get it, answer it or find out!

Ride On, Ride Safe, Livestrong!!
