October 27

Hello Crew!

The Team had an excellent ride today.  Jack, Chuck, Aaron, Adam and JT rode out to Omega by way of Cabin Hollow. The weather was perfect; cool and overcast.. the colors out that way were just magnificent!  The ride out was fairly laid back with Chuck off the front most of the time.  Once at Omega, we took a moment, then started back to town.  Chuck left out of Omega first, and opened up a very sizable lead. When the rest of us were not able to pull him back into sight by the time we hit Rush Branch Road, we got serious about chasing. Jack, Aaron, Adam and JT chased Chuck up and over Haynes Knob.. We chased all the way to the bypass before we even caught sight of him.  Once in the city limits, we really poured it on to get Chuck back in before the end of the ride, but we were unsuccessful!

The only thing I love better than having a great ride myself, is when one of my team mates has a great ride, and I would have to say that Chuck had a great ride today!  OUTSTANDING EFFORT!

USA CYCLING TEAM
foundation training
If you are remotely interested in racing in 2008, now is the time for you to spend time riding with the team! Our rides are relatively laid back, and we are wholeheartedly willing to spend time riding with anybody and everybody who is considering racing for us next year. The team rides may get a little testy, but not to the exclusion of our up and coming riders!

local sanctioned races/Cumberland Cycles Promoted Races
I have personally submitted a proposal to Brad Herrman (our man in charge) to convert our spring training series race into the SAM CATRON MEMORIAL ROAD RACE:  March 22, 2008. If Brad and the Series promoters accept my proposal, the race will start and finish at the Stab Firehouse, where Sheriff Catron was shot and killed on April 12, 2002. As for the course, two or three different routes are proposed, but all involve highways 1675, 192 and 1003.

We need volunteers for this race. Please contact us in the next several weeks to let us know is you can help marshal the race.

TEAM DEVELOPMENTAL RIDE SUNDAY - OCTOBER 28 @2 PM
The team will meet at the Shopeville Library (beside Shopville Elementary School) and will ride to Otts Store just outside of London. This will be about a 40 mile ride. Easy to moderate pace.

CASUAL FALL AND WINTER RIDE ANNOUNCMENTS -
