The Cumberland Cycling Team has been racing a great deal lately. On August 25 and 26th, Roger Whitlock, Jonathon Thompson and Jack Evans participated in the BMW Cycling Classic in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  This race consisted of a road race and a time trial on Saturday and a Criterium on Sunday. The road race climbed and descended two mountains, covered 62 miles, and was particularly brutal. Jonathon Thompson placed 8th in his division in the three-staged event and Jack Evans placed 10th in his division. Roger Whitlock, the club time trial specialist placed 10th in the CAT V (all ages) time trial.

Also on the weekend of August 25 and 26, Mr. Aaron Denney participated in the ABR Fort Ben Stage Race in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Denney placed 4th in the time trial event and 3rd in the road race!  Despite these good results, he was unable to get a good general classification in the entire race due to crashing in the Criterium stage of the event.

Other recent races have seen the Cumberland Cycles multi-sport athletes doing several very difficult triathlons and biathlons. Dr. Mark Henry recently participated in a triathlon in Columbus, Indiana.  DR Swanner and Dave Stewart both participated in a 100 mile relay running event in Bloomington, Indiana.
