A Message from Marc/Cumberland Cycles

www.cumberlandcycles.com

Hello all!  Hope this finds everyone well.  What a beautiful start to this Thursday.  It looks as though Spring may finally be upon us.  Truly time to ride!

Tonight the usual rides will depart from Barnesburg Baptist Church.  The first will be the “Yellow Tail Ride” leaving at 5:30.  The second will be the more aggressive of the departures, the “Crew Ride” leaving at 6:00 and I will be leaving out for a “Middle of the road ride” around 6:30.  It seems these rides have been averaging a pace as so;  around 14-16mph avg at 16-20 miles for the “Yellow Tail” crew, 18-20mph avg for 20-30 miles for the race/training “Crew” and I myself like 16-18mph avg. for around 16-20 miles.  Hopefully this will find a comfort zone for those interested.  If not, let me know and we’ll need to see about taking care of that.

As riding the same area can get a little repetitious after awhile, I would like to remind everyone that if you have a ride you would like to introduce to the group please plan a group ride.  I know most are up for some new sights and sounds.  JT and I have been talking and even mentioned having one night a week leave out from a different area.  Any ideas?????  The Nancy area has been mentioned.  Looking for some ideas and input here……………..

Time to show some local support!

As some may have heard the Cumberland Cycles Crew Race season has gotten off to some very exciting starts.  For a foundation year the team shows some tremendous promise.  A special Congrats! To Adam Bourne who has apparently stepped into his element.  Adam just continues to excel with a current standing of 6th in the state of Kentucky in his category.  Very impressive.

This weekend the team riders will travel to Lexington for a circuit race.  This is a great opportunity for us all to rally together and cheer the “CREW” on.  I will be closing the shop on Saturday and traveling to Lexington to be on the sidelines.  ANYONE INTERESTED??????  I would love to see a big local crowd there sporting Cumberland Cycles colors to help cheer on the team.  I would love to get enough to consider even some carpools and maybe even a big meal together.  Depending on the venue I will even be taking the shop tent and mechanical support to set up at the race.  We could all hang out together and have our presence heard.  I know the team would enjoy the cheering.  I would find out some more details today and send out another email about the traveling plans.  If you are interested please send me an email or call to let me know.  Outside of the Regional race in London this will be the closest venue, so come one, come ALL!!!

As usual, a few new e-mails have been added to the list so try and use this mailing for any info you might want to send to the “Cumberland Cycles Crew”.  As mentioned before, just hit reply to all, give your message some kind of new subject, type the message and send.  Using this mail will ensure that you are reaching the most updated list of those interested.  Again, any additions or deletions just let me know.

As for product, theseason is upon us and the shop is stocked:

For those interested in maximum benefits for their work, the Hammer Nutrition products are the key and our shelves are stocked.  Everyone that has even dabbled in the program has had great benefits to report.  I now have a few shop copies of their book “The Endurance Athlete’s Guide to Success”.  If you are interested, just stop in to borrow a copy and learn  “everything you need to know about optimum caloric, electrolyte, and fluid intake” for athletes.

For you ladies out there, I just received a new load of jerseys.  After numerous requests, tank tops inparticular.  I got “Racerback” tanks, thin strap tanks, “support” tanks, and some more sleeveless styles.  I even brought in some of these new fangled “skorts”.    I was able to grab a number of deals on these items so numbers are limited at these sale prices.  Swing in and get first dibs.  Guys, no worries, also got some new jerseys for you, no thin strap tanks though!  Sorry, might try a ladies if you really desire! J  Admittedly, my jersey supply is probably a little overboard so please come check out the selection and help put my mind at ease.  Almost every jersey on the rack is on sale.

Also got the Tifosi Eyewear case stocked to the gills.  Come see what style fits you.  Choose from various designs, mens and womens, small and large frame styles depending on your “bucket”, a number of which are new for 2007, including new colors too.  All styles range from $30 to $60, including the glasses, multiple lenses, a hard case and a soft cleaning case to boot.  Substantially less than any competitors eyewear with all the same features.

One last mention for the ladies, I also just got in some new bar tape and water bottle cages in more “feminine” colors.  Again, not that you guys can’t buy them if you want.  Colors include more pinks, purples, blues and “melons”.  Sport some new fresh looks for the season

As always, please remember, if you need it and I don’t have it, I’ll get it.  Just let me know.

Again, thank you all for your continued support.  It seems obvious the numbers are just continuing, to grow.  The more cyclists we have the more we are seen, hence, the safer we will be.

Ride On, Ride Safe, Livestrong!!!!
