Hello Crew!~

Road racing and multi-sport events seasons are in full swing!!!  The Road Racing Crew just finished up the Kentucky/Indiana Spring Series with last weekends Lexington Spring Circuit race and many of our multisport athletes participated in the Falling Heart Triathlon last weekend as well.

I am extremely pleased to report that we had a dozen competitors racing in various events last Saturday and our club posted some very outstanding results!!!  First of all, several of our multisport athletes all went to Versailles and placed in the following manner.

Dave Stewart:              1st in division
Dave Zwick:                1st in division
Rick Rice:                   1st in division
DR Swanner:               2nd in division

Wow!!!  Our multi-sports have really kicked in to gear!!!!!  They have all surged forward in our club standings in the hunt for the $300 gift certificate from the shop (to be awarded this fall)

JT, Brad Herman, Adam Bourne, Aaron Denny and Jack Evans all raced in the Lexington Spring Circuit Race in Lexington last Saturday as well and we had some very good results. First of all, Aaron was able to hang on to the main 4/5 field for an ST (same time) pack finish.   The rest of the road crew raced in the Masters 30+ event which was brutal!  This field contained two national champions and one of the riders has 26 national titles over his career. Jack was able to hang on to the EXTREEMLY FAST pack for more than half the race, and JT and Adam were able to finish 10 and 11 respectively in the main finish.

We want to thank Adam Bourne for his tremendous efforts this spring so far in the Spring Series Races... Adam and JT have raced almost every weekend since the end of February, and Adam has done extremely well. Adam is currently ranked in the top 100 CAT V racers in the Nation!

These are some really great results and I am so pleased!!!  Next year for Cumberland Cycles Crew will be simply outstanding!

After our season is over, we'd like everybody to start thinking about having a club/team dinner or banquet. Probably sometime near the first of October.  We will award the team points winner their gift certificate at that time. Send your ideas to JT or  Marc Travis.
