Nova - 08

our sponsors:   www.cumberlandcyclingclub.org - Cumberland Cycling Clubs

A total of nine club mates met at the Shopeville Library last Sunday and rode in the glorious sun and October blue and forest colors to Otts Store just outside London.  It was an excellent ride; scenic and refreshing!  Charles and Roger kept the pace a little warm with the rest of us happy to bask in the wheels. Once to the hill on the east side of the Rockastle River, Jeff P. cut loose and climbed the hill as if it wasn't even there!  It was a beautiful ride and I am extremely encouraged at this level of turn-out for our fall team rides.

The 2008 Kentuckiana Spring Training Series (KSTS) starts its 28th year of existence in 2008 as one of the most well known annual cycling events in the Midwest. Starting the first weekend in March, KSTS will attract riders from IN, KY, OH, MI, WI, TN, IL and WVA who will brave the early spring weather to get a start on their competitive cycling season. The Series is promoted each year as an important opportunity for new teams and team members to familiarize themselves with new equipment and each other for the upcoming season.

In 2006, KSTS was the starting point for six US National Championship jerseys and one
medal at the Masters World Championships. Over the 27 years, KSTS has begunthe season for 30 US National Championship jerseys and two World Championship medals.

These events are all sanctioned by the United States Cycling Federation (USCF).
