Crew News -

www.cumberlandcycles.com

Hello Crew!

We've had some racing activity over the past week from several of our crew mates!  First of all, Mr. Aaron Denney raced in two separate bike races over the weekend past and he placed 5th and 3rd (Cat V) and has now taken third place in our club standings!  Aaron came out for tonight's ride and he was not only able to stay with Adam and JT but was able to stir up some @#!% of his own!  Aaron is getting very strong and we are very proud of him!

Jack Evans, Dave Stewart and Eric Rudy participated in the The BMW of Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon Race last Sunday as a team.  Jack did the bike leg, Eric did the swim and Dave did the run. They placed 5th in their division.

Jeff Parmelee and Mark Henry also participated in this event, but they participated as individuals (run/bike/swim). Both Mark and Jeff did very well in this nationally renowned race and we are proud of all five of these crew mates as well!

Hello Paceliners,

As you know its 41 challenging miles with a couple of brutal climbs of ¾ mile at about 16% average grade.

EBC assistant coach Lance Dobbs will be coming up from Marietta Georgia along with a friend of his to join us for the ride.

Meet at The Bike Shop (in London) at 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning for this strong, challenging ride.

Dave (Grigsby).

Organizational Club Points
In addition to awarding the above mentioned racers racing points, at long last, I have also awarded two of our crew members organizational points. These two members are Jack Evans and Brad Hermann. Brad is currently working very hard on the Burnside Festival Bike Race and we have awarded him 25 club points for his efforts in this regard.

Also, Jack Evans has taken on the brunt of the work for our Barnsburg Time Trial Series and we want to thank him as well by awarding him 25 club points as well.

Year End Celebrations and Focus on 2008 -

GUIEST SPEAKER:  Mr. Robert Brooks, USCF Coach and CAT II road cyclist

We plan to have a year-end dinner on October 6th. We will award the Cumberland Cycles Point Winner a check for $300 and we willhave a great time.  Be sure to watch for details.

Remember that 2008 racing will begin as early as January, but certainly by the end of February. We will begin training as a team, November 3, 2007 - Foundation riding (senior team members help train new members).  Foundation training will last until about Christmas 2008 - nobody dropped - anybody and everybody welcome. By the new year, the team will need to isolate and accelerate the training level which may begin to exclude anybody not able to stay within 2 minutes of any course change.

If you are a cyclist, please consider racing for us next year! We can get you in shape and help you a great deal.

Remember to support Cumberland Cycles in any way possible!!!!!! As Marc Says, "Ride on" - "Live Strong"
