It's been a very cold weekend! Thankfully, I had a good excuse to not race this weekend; my 15 year old son was visiting me for Easter. The team was able to get in a 25 mile ride to White Lilly and Haynes Knob - Jack, Harvey, Mark, JT and Aaron all rode in the snow flurries. We started the ride at 31 deg F and finished it at about 37 yet it was the coldest ride so far this year! Even colder than rides in the teens back in the winter! Aaron put is exactly right: Either we are men or idiots! Also, it has been a rest and recovery week for me, so I took it easy without any guilt!
For our sole team rider who mustered the courage (in this cold) to go to Louisville and race in the continuing Kentucky/Indiana Spring Series, hats off! Mr. Adam Bourne strikes again!!! Not only did Adam brave the cold and snow, he got away with a break and was able to win 6th place in the "Fallen Heroes Circuit Race" on Saturday!!!!! With everything we are seeing from Adam, I think it is pretty much a forgone conclusion that Adam is our current road racing star. Congratulations to Adam! We very much look forward to more!
I would also like to recognize the finishes of two of our adopted riders. Both of these fellows ride for and are loyal to other teams, but we think of them as "team mates" because they are friends of our shop and our club. Therefore like to point out their successes.
Mr. Eric Barnett, who comes down to Somerset to ride with our crew from time to time, races for Pedal Power in Lexington. I have heard that he was able to place 3rd in the CAT III/IV race in Louisville today! Congratulations to Eric for this result!!!!!
Mr. Bob Brooks, a long time friend and coach of JTs raced in the CAT I/II/III race in Louisville today and was able to score an ST field finish! He was pleased because he was very active in the race and we are pleased for him!
Mark Henry and several other of our TRI riders are going to continue competing soon and we wish them good luck! We also want to remind them to inform the shop or JT of their race starts and finishes as our club pays club points for this, sanctioned or not.
DOGWOOD WINTER
Remember- Marc still has winter riding cloths on the racks down at the shop! Please don't stop riding just because it's gotten a little cooler! Go on out and buy some winter gear - wear it for a week or so and put it away for next fall and winter!
Winter clothing down at the shop is 25% off!
